FCOM supports so called DTC Freeze frames. Every DTC is assigned variable set of environment data (such as mileage, battery voltage, engine speed, etc) at time of first DTC occurence. If multiple DTCs are present, ECU may record only first DTC freeze frame or only a subset of DTCs may contain freeze frame.
Please note that pre-UDS (ISO14229) ECU freeze frame is mostly limited only to petrol engines. All ISO14229 UDS ECUs usually support freeze frames. Freeze frame contents is determined by ECU for each DTC.
The article shows how to read freeze frame for fault codes stored in BCM ECU. Freeze frame is available only for the first DTC displayed.
Plug your FCON interface to vehicle, then run FCOM software
Click “Select Control Unit”
Click “Body” label and select “BCM-Body Control Module”,then click “Go” to continue
Click “Read Fault Code Memory”
Select a stored diagnostic trouble code, then click “Freeze Frame”
Now you can view the freeze data
And you can click go back to view other fault code freeze frame.
