Procedures:

1.Inspecting the [ABS MTR 50A] fuse

Check existence of blowout and fitting condition of the [ABS MTR 50A] fuse.

2.Inspecting operation of the brake actuator ASSY motor

Set the starter key to the “LOCK” position.

Connect the diagnostic system (HINO DXⅡ) to the vehicle.

Turn the starter key “ON”.

In the screen of the diagnostic system, select [ABS motor relay] in [Activation test setting].

Operate the motor of the brake actuator ASSY and check that the motor is operating (operation noise).

if operation noise of the motor audible,go to step8 otherwise go to step 3

3.Inspecting power supply of the ABS MTR 50A fuse

Set the starter key to the “LOCK” position.

Remove the [ABS MTR 50A] fuse from the relay block.

Turn the starter key “ON”.

Using the electrical tester, measure voltage between the 1st terminal of the [ABS MTR 50A] fuse in the relay block and ground.

If the measured value within the standard values,go to step 4 otherwise inspect the wire harness (power supply circuit, replay block)

Repair or replace as necessary

4.Inspecting the power supply circuit of the brake actuator ASSY (+BM)

Set the starter key to the “LOCK” position.

Remove the brake actuator ASSY connector.

Connect the [ABS MTR 50A] fuse.

Turn the starter key “ON”.

Using the electrical tester, measure voltage between the 24th terminal of the vehicle side connector of the brake actuator ASSY and ground.

If the measured value within the standard value (10-16v),go to step 8 otherwise go to step 5.

5.Inspecting the wire harness of power supply circuit (+BM) of the brake actuator ASSY for disconnection

Set the starter key to the “LOCK” position.

Disconnect the [ABS MTR 50A] fuse from the relay block.

Using the electrical tester, inspect continuity between the vehicle side connector of the brake actuator ASSY and the [ABS MTR 50A] fuse terminal in the relay block.

If the measured value within the standard values(with continuity),go to step 6 othwerwise repair or repalce the wire harness

6.Inspecting the wire harness of power supply circuit (+BM) of the brake actuator ASSY for short circuit

Inspect continuity between the 24th terminal of the vehicle side connector of the brake actuator ASSY and ground by using the electrical tester.

If the measured value within the standard values (No continuity),go to step 7 otherwise repair or repalce the wire harness

7.Inspecting the wire harness of the power supply circuit of the [ABS MTR 50A] fuse for short circuit

Inspect continuity between the 2nd terminal of the [ABS MTR 50A] fuse in the relay block and ground by using the electrical tester.

If the measured value within the standard values (No continuity),go to step 8 otherwise repair or replace the wire harness

8.Reading the DTC by HINO DX II diagnostic software

Turn the starter key “ON”.

Using the diagnostic system (HINO DXⅡ), delete past malfunctions.

Set the starter key to the “LOCK” position.

Check that the ABS warning light lights for 3 seconds after turning the starter key “ON” and then the light turns off.

In the screen of the diagnostic system, check for C1361-91.

If DTC C1361-91 detected, replace the brake actuator ASSY,otherwise end of inspection
