How to Use AVDI Diagnostic to Adapt/Program DSG TCU for VW Golf7

After you replacing Direct Shift Gearbox/Transmission Control Unit,you need to adapt/programming it.Here is a example on how to use AVDI diagnostic to adapt/program it for VW Golf 7.And for more AVDI key programming,check here:AVDI Programmer Test Projects

Start off by removing the plastics near the driver’s seat

Find the CAN HI(original/black) and CAN LOW (orange/brown) cable and connect to them using your preferred connectors.The needle pinch connectors are used here.

Open the front bonnet and remove the fuse box plastic cap

Remove the ECU fuse,in this car it’s N13

Then connect the fuse adapter

Connect an external power supply

Connect the fuse adapter to the DS-Box relay

Followed by CH and CL from the powertrain CAN

Connect AVDI to vehicle OBD port and connect the ProTag programmer to the laptop

Adapt/Program DSG TCU for VW Golf7:

The DSG has been replaced and is not adapted to the car,the “SAFE” and “Immobilizer active” message will appear on the dashboard.

Open the Abrites Diagnostics for VAG software

After connection,select “Transmission Control Module”

The DQ250 is the current TCU type,click “Read DTCs”,it will show the error code U112100 and U010000.There is no communication to the ECU as the TCU is not adapted.

Back to menu to select “Special function”,enter the “CAN Instrument” menu and read the immo data.

Remember the Power Class.

Make sure the TCU menu is selected and click “Show CS”

It will prompt you to put the working key in the ProTag programmer

There are the original TCU and ECU CS,the data that is read is saved in the application cache.

Back menu to select “IMMO V Adaptation” menu,select “Transmission control unit”,click “Next”

Select “MQB platform”,then “Next” to continue

Make sure you are connected as per the instructions,click “Read immo Data”

Select “TCU type”

The CS have been successfully read as below

Click “Next” button and continue changing the CS of the TCU

Enter the Power Class,you remember before:A3,the click “Change”

It will prompt you “Component security set with SUCCESS”

Close the “ImmoV Adaptation” window

Now you need to back to read out fault code and clear them,after then you can exit and test if the car can start normally without warning massage on the dashboard.
