The Engine Control Module (ECM) detects the following conditions:
-The battery voltage is greater than 9 VDC.
-The ECM detects high current for the Injection actuation pressure control valve for more than 120 miliseconds when the driver is in the ON position.
The Engine Control Module(ECM) controls the operation of the high pressure oil pump by sending a signal to the injection actuation pressure Control valve(APCV).The ECM uses the input signals from these sensors in order to calculate the control signal for the IP:engine speed/timing sensor,throttle position sensor rand injection actuation pressure sensor.The IAPCV is located inside the high-pressure oil pump.The IAP CV cannot be serviced separately.
The lAPCV uses the signal from the ECM to control the output pressure of the high-pressure pump.The ECM sends an increase in current flow to the lAPCV in order to increase the output pressure of the high-pressure oil pump. If the lAPCV connector is unplugged at the pump, the pressure output drops to the minimal output.
high-pressure oil is produced by the high-pressure oil pump. The high-presure oil is directed to the injectors through the high-pressure oil manifold.The injection actuation pressure sensor is used to detect the pressure of the oil that is in the high-pressure oil manifold.The sensor is installed in the oil manifold that is in the cylinder head on the left side of the engine.The high-pressure oil is used to actuate the Hydraulic Electronic Unit Injectors (HEUl).
Probable Causes:
1) ECM Connection
2) Injection actuation pressure control valve
3) Harness between ECM and injection actuation pressure control valve
4) ECM Failure
