G-scan software covers not only the latest GM models but also older models like 2008 Hummer H3. If there is OBD port, G-scan covers. This article will show you guide on how to scan diagnostic trouble code(DTC) and basic function reset via G-scan for Hommer 2008 H3. Steps:
Connect G-Scan3 to Hummer obd port, then enter menu to select “Diagnosis”
Select “GM”–>”AUTOMATIC SELECTION”
Hit “OK”
Select “System Search”, it will scan all available systems equipped in the vehicle. Hit “OK”
If the diagnostic trouble code(DTC) is present in the system, red circle will be displayed.
Hitting red circle will display the trouble code in the system.
Hit “Show DTC” will display all DTC at once
Now Let’s perform basic reset function in the engine.
Select “(E)3.7L L5 LLR Engine Control Module (5GT)
Select “Special Function”–>”Fuel Trim Reset”
Hit “OK” Fuel Trim Reset is completed.
Let’s perform “Idle Learn Reset” , scroll down and hit “Idle Learn Reset”
You need to clean the throttle body before performing this function.
Turn the ignition ON and engine OFF. After that hit “OK”
Idle Learn Reset is completed.
Most functions available for 2000’s Hummer are very simple ones like reset. G-scan software covers not only the latest GM models but also most of previous models like 2008 Hummer. Don’t forget to keep your G-scan’s software to the latest version to get full benefit of software.
