Bosch M7 ECU Damaged by Coolant Temperature Sensor Trouble

Symptoms of a Bad or Failing Coolant Temperature Sensor:

Poor fuel economy

Black smoke from engine

Can not start the cool engine

Overheating engine

Check Engine Light comes on

 

How to Repair Coolant Temperature Sensor Trouble:

1.Replace a new coolant temperature sensor

2.Check the the circuit is work correctly.If there are open circuit,you need to fix them.

 

Sometime even you done the operations mention above,but the coolant temperature sensor still can not work.So now you need to remove the ECU(here take Bosch M7 ECU as a example)

Open the Bosch M7 ECU to check the PCB.

You will found there are broken circuit on the PCB,it is GND,just fix them as below pictures.

There are two pin belong to GND,if one of both was broken,just use solder gun to weld them together.If you found both of them were damaged,you need to weld a wire from them to the central position(GND).
