Adjust Torque Sensor for Toyota 2006 C1515 Trouble Code by Launch X431

This article a guide on how to use Launch X431 to adjust torque sensor for Toyota 2006 C1515 & C1525 trouble code.Here you need to clear the trouble code firstly,then adjust the torque sensor,after then you will find the trouble code will not come back again.

 

Procedures:

Connect Launch X431 device to Toyota,then enter the menu to select “Toyota V48.81”

This software can diagnose Powertrain,Chassis and Body systems on Toyota vehicles.

Select “16 PIN DLC(Europe and other)”

Select “Automatically Search”

Up to 09/2010

Select “w/o Smart Key”

Then X431 will show the vehicle information as below

Check the vehicle information,then select “OK” to continue

Select “System Selection”

Select “Chassis”

Select “EMPS”

Then select “Special Function”

Select “Read Fault Code”

It prompts that C1515 and C1525 trouble code:

C1515:Torque Sensor Zero Point Adjustment Undone

C1525:Rotation Angle Sensor Initialization Undone

Tap to clear the trouble codes,it will prompt you the trouble code have been cleared.

 

Back to select “Special Function”

Select “Auto Search Special Function”

Select “Torque Sensor Adjustment”

Launch X431 will prompt you with below massage:

       Use this function after replacing the following parts

       1.EMPS ECU

       2.Steering wheel

      3.Tilt steering column assembly

     4.Steering gear assembly

     This function adjusts the steering angle position.

     Please follow the prompt messages when you use this function

 

Tap”OK” to continue

Then you will enter the Torque Sensor Adjustment wizard as below,follow the massage.

Note:Please confirm the vehicle is still and IG switch is on

Turn ignition switch to OFF position

Turn ignition switch to ON position

Then press “OK” to continue

Turn ignition switch to OFF position

Turn ignition switch to ON position,the press OK to continue

Make sure the PS warning light is on,the press OK to proceed

Perform the following operations,then press OK

1.Set the steering wheel to the center position

2.Turn the steering wheel either direction 90 degrees or more

3.Turn the steering wheel back to the center position

4.Turn the steering wheel the opposite direction 90 degrees or more

5.Turn the steering wheel back to the center position

It will take about 40 seconds to calibrate,please wait…

When the process completing,it will prompt with below massage:

Make sure the steering wheel is centered

Note:During the next step,the steering wheel will vibrate.

Don’t touch the wheel while it is vibrating

Press OK to process

Please select “OK” if the wheel stops vibrating

It prompts that Torque Sensor Adjust is completed,then select ok

And now if you back to read the fault code,it will prompt you that there is no DTC exit in EMPS system.
