Bodybuilder connection indicator for activated alarm, short circuit

Error identification

The bodybuilder connection indicator for activated alarm is short-circuited to voltage supply.

 

Cause

Fault in wake-up signal harness-to-component connectors or cable harness for bodybuilder connection indicator for activated alarm.

Internal fault in ALM control unit E7.

 

Notes

If the alarm system is activated when the fault code is generated the siren will sound.

 

Symptom

Bodybuilder connection indicator for activated alarm does not work.

 

Action

Disconnect the harness-to-component connector to ALM control unit pin B11.

Measure for short circuits throughout the cable harness.

If there are a number of harness-to-component connectors between the wake-up signal and the ALM control unit, disconnect them and measure in order to isolate the fault.

If the fault is not in the cable harness it is probably an internal fault in ALM control unit E7.
