CLAAS LEXION 8900 Perkins 2206 D-E13TA engine Oil and Oil Filter Changing Guide

Here is the instruction show you guide on how to change oil and oil filter for CLAAS LEXION 8900-5300 Perkins 2206 D-E13TA diesel engine.

Applies to: Perkins 2206 D-E13TA diesel engine

Pre-condition:

Oil collection container

Oil hose

Drain the oil immediately after stopping the diesel engine at operating temperature. Dirt particles in the oil pan are flushed out along with the draining oil.

► Park the machine on level ground.

► Switch off and secure the machine.

► Clean the diesel engine and the surrounding area.

► Locate the oil filler neck and the oil filter in the diesel engine overview.

► Unscrew the oil filler neck.

Draining the oil

 

► Unscrew the oil filler neck lid.

► Plug a hose on drain nozzle (1).

► Place a collecting container beneath the end of the hose.

CAUTION! Hot liquids and machine components – risk of burns

► Wear protective gloves.

► Loosen nut (2).

► Collect and dispose of the oil.

► Tighten nut (2).

► Remove hose line from the drain nozzle (1).

 

Changing the oil filter

► Place the collecting container under filter (1).

► Unscrew filter (1) with a strap spanner.

Avoid damage to the filter head: Do not tilt filter (1) when slackening it off.

► Collect and dispose of the oil.

► Dispose of the filter.

► Allow only filtered oil into the diesel engine: Do not fill the new filter (1) with oil.

► Coat the seal of new filter (1) with fresh oil.

► Screw on new filter (1) with a new seal until the seal touches the filter head. Tighten filter (1) by hand. Do not use a tool.

Topping up oil

 

NOTICE!

When the oil level is above the maximum mark on the oil level dipstick, the diesel engine may suffer damage.

► Top up oil only up to the maximum mark on the oil level dipstick.

► Top up fresh oil at the oil filler neck.

► Check the oil level.

Top up fresh oil if necessary.

► Screw on the oil filler neck lid.

Top up fresh oil if necessary.

► Screw on the oil filler neck lid.

 

When the <Low engine oil pressure> message appears in the CEBIS message field, stop the diesel engine immediately.

► Stop the diesel engine and wait for 10 minutes to allow the oil to flow back into the oil pan.

► Check the oil level. Top up oil if necessary.
