Checking the steering angle sensor

Checking the steering angle sensor A green status LED(1) shows the operational readiness of the steering angle sensor. The LED must light up continuously.

The function of the steering angle sensor can also be checked using the service diagnostics.

 

Replacing the steering angle sensor

-Disconnect the battery male connector.

-Disconnect plug 7X53 from the steering angle sensor.

The steering angle sensor(1) is mounted on the shaft (3) with two grub screws(2).

-Loosen the grub screws and remove the steering angle sensor from the shaft together with the support(4).

-Remove four screws(5) and the steering angle sensor from the support.

To install the steering angle sensor, follow the steps for removal in the reverse order.

After a sensor fault or replacement, the following service diagnostics functions must be per-

formed:

Carry out a reference drive
