BMW E Series FRM Light Control Unit Communication Error Solution

BMW FRM light control unit error will cause communication error,the problem caused by inter EEPROM data lost.

 

Preparations:

Newest XPROG 6.12 5.84 Software Free Download & Installation Guide

NCS Expert BMW Coding Software Download

 

Solution:

Use XPROG programmer to write a working data into EEPROM,then use NCS software to do coding.

 

 

Steps:

Run XPROG software,then select “Components”

After then select “freescale 9S12XE”à”MC9S12XEQ384 EEE” (FRM CPU model number show on the chip)

According to below diagram to build connection

Red:VCC 5V power

Yellow:RESET

Black:GND Ground

Pink:BKGD Data

After wires connection soldered,click “Erase”

Then set partition as 16,then click “OK”

After then click “Open” in menu bar,the load the working FRM EEPROM data

Click “Write” button to write working data into EERPOM

If there are not error message,during writing processing,it mean new data writing successfully

Now you just use NCS to do coding step,after then It will work.
