The footwell temperature sensors are located in the footwell kick or cover plates. The procedures are the same for both sides. To access it you must first remove the kick panel or protective piece that is up under the dash.Use a T20 Torx and remove the three screws holding it in place (red arrows) and pivot it down at the front.
Disconnect the electrical connection for the footwell light (red arrow).
Pull out the connection for the footwell temperature sensor (red arrow)
You can now slide the piece all the way down and then pull it out.The sensor is located inside the air duct closest to the center (red arrow)
This photo illustrates how the electrical connection base of the sensor (red arrow) sits outside of the airflow and is held in place by a rubber grommet at the base.
Turn the sensor 90 degrees counter-clockwise and pull it back out from the air duct.
Installation is the reverse of removal.Try not to get the oils from your hands or any dirt on the sensor when installing.
