How to Exchange Engine ECU for Audi by Abrites

This instruction will show the procedure for exchanging an engine ECU by AVDI Abrites diagnostics programmer. If the engine control unit is EDC17/MED17/Simos, you need to use VN004 to read the unit’s PIN and CS in boot mode.

 

Procedure:

Connect AVDI Abrites programmer to Audi obd port, running software.

Select “Audi”

Select “Special functions”

Select “CAN Instrument”

Click “Enter Service Mode by OBDII”

Click “Read Immo data”

Copy CS and PIN number and save it in notepad, named PIN and CS of HOST VEHICLE.

Click “Exit”

Select “Immo parts adaptation”

Click “Engine control unit{EDC16/EDC17/MED9/MED17/Simos”

Select “Specify manually the existing CS/PIN of the engine control unit”, input the old CS and PIN number, and click “Read”

Input new CS and PIN number we saved previous, then click “Update”

Please make ignition OFF for 5 seconds and then again ON. After do that, click “OK”

Function is completed. Exit the software.
