BMW TCU 8HP Gen3 Read Write by Launch X431 X-PROG3

This instruction show you guide on how to use Launch X431 XPROG 3 programmer to program/read/write BMW 8HP Gen3 TCU.

 

Tools you need:

Launch X431 X-PROG3 Programmer

 

Procedures:

Run X-PROG3 software,then input 8hp gen to search

Select “BMW”à”6 Series2018”à”B47D20 1998 190”à”8HP Gen3”

Select “BENCH” and click “Next”

Select “Direct connection of diagram”

Follow the diagram to build connection

There are two methods to connect

1 read in the car directly

2 remove TCU and connect on bench

Click “Connect” button

After then you will find 4 options available

“Read MAP Data” “Read EEPROM Data” “Write MAP Data” “Write EEPROM Data”

Mare sure to backup file before you do clear data.
