Motion and inclination detector, short circuit

Error identification

Motion and inclination detector T78 is short-circuited to ground/the voltage supply..

 

Cause

Fault in harness-to-component connectors or cable harness for motion and inclination detector T78.

Fault in motion and inclination detector T78.

Faulty ALM control unit E7.

 

Notes

–

Symptom

The motion and inclination detector does not work correctly.

 

Action

Check motion and inclination detector T78 and its connection.

Disconnect the motion and inclination detector.

Measure the pins in the nearest harness-to-component connector going to control unit pin A14.

Disconnect the harness-to-component connector on the control unit.

Measure for short circuits throughout the cable harness.

If there are a number of harness-to-component connectors between the motion and inclination detector and the control unit, also measure these in order to isolate the fault.

If the fault is not in the cable harness or motion and inclination detector, it is probably an internal fault in the control unit.
