How to Replace EGR Valve for Scania Truck 7 Litre Engine

This instruction show you guide on how to remove and install EGR valve for Scania truck 7 litre engine.

Procedures:

Removal

1.Switch off the power by disconnecting the negative cable to the battery, or switch off the battery master switch.

2.Clean the area around the EGR valve.

3.Remove the part of the pipe that connects to the EGR valve by doing the following:

Remove the electrical cable to the temperature sensor (1).

Remove the 2 screws in the connection with the EGR valve (2).

Slacken the left hose clamp (3) on the pipe.

Remove the electrical cable to the EGR valve (4).

4.Remove the EGR valve (5):

Remove 4 screws and 2 gaskets.

5.Plug the holes to the inlet pipe (6) so that the engine does not get contaminated.

 

Fitting

1.Check the sealing surfaces towards the inlet pipe. Clean if necessary.

2.Check the part of the pipe that connects to the EGR valve. Clean the sealing surface if necessary.

3.Fit the EGR valve on the inlet pipe with new gaskets and tighten the screws diagonally (1).

4.Fit the part of the pipe that connects to the EGR valve by doing the following:

Screw the 2 screws into the connection with the EGR valve (2).

EGR valve, to pipe from EGR cooler 24 Nm

Fit the pipe against the connection with the EGR cooler and tighten the hose clamps (3).

Fit the electrical cable to the temperature sensor (4).

5.Fit the electrical cable to the EGR valve (5).

6.Start the engine and check that no exhaust gas leakage occurs.
