Mercedes Benz Sprinter New IR Key Adding by Autel IM608

Here is a guide on how to use Autel IM608 programmer to add new IR key for Mercedes Benz Sprinter 2006-.If you need more case on Benz Sprinter,please refer to:Benz Sprinter Trouble Repair

 

What You Need?

Autel IM608 with XP400 Programmer

Existing working key

New blank key

 

Procedures:

Connect XP400 to Autel IM608

Connect J2534 with OBD cable to vehicle

Then connect Autel IM608 to J2534 via bluetooth

Run Autel IM608

Select “IMMO”,then search “Sprinter”

Select “Smart Mode”

After vehicle identify,select “Yes” to continue

Select “Add Key”

Put the working key in to the XP400 coil,and press any button of the key

Please insert ignition key into the IR keyhole on the programmer,and press “OK”

It will ask you if this ignition key is smart key,click “NO”

Put the blank ignition key close to the programmer remote reception and press any button of the key.

Read blank key information

It will ask you password,just click “NO”

Then click “Begin” to continue

After the key password is calculated,it may be required to insert and remove the ignition key for multiple times before it can start the vehicle.

Insert the ignition key into the EIS and wait for 5 seconds.

After 5s later,it will prompt you pull the ignition key out

Now insert the ignition key into the EIS and wait for 2s

After pulling the ignition key out,insert it into the IR keyhole on the programmer

 

Now succeeded in computing password

Insert the ignition key into the EIS and wait for 30s,then click “OK”

After 30s

Password calculation completed

Press OK to return to key addition process and proceed to next step.

Please insert the blank key into the IR keyhole on the programmer,and press “OK”

Note:Do not pull out ignition key from EIS.

Key addition completed.After pressing “OK”,check if the key can be used normally according to instructions.

Insert the new key into the EIS.If the red indicator lamp on the key lights up and goes off,the key learning is successful.

If the red indicator lamp stays lit,try inserting and removing the key for several times.If still not working,key addition failed.

Turn ignition and check if the vehicle can be started normally.If the vehicle not started normally,the key addition failed.

After then test remote locking/unlocking key function.
