Procedures:

Actuator bleeder repair kit, available through Landoll part number 195929 has been created to aid in the repair of leaking actuator bleeder screws. It consists of 2 new orings and 1 small tube of 545 Loctite. NOTE: There are no new bleeder screws with this kit, they are Landoll part number 189739 if needed.

Remove both bleeder screws from the actuator one at a time and install new oring from kit on the bleeder screw base and apply 545 Loctite on the threads before reinstalling. NOTE: The threads in the actuator don’t have to be completely dry from oil for the sealant to work properly. It will work with hydraulic oil present on them.

Torque the bleeder screw base to 18ft lbs onto the actuator. NOTE: Exceeding 18ft lbs will break the bleeder screw base and could possibly cause damage to the actuator resulting in replacement of the actuator, which would not be covered under warranty.

After the steps above are done you must bleed the actuator of air pockets. NOTE: You must use 2 wrenches to loosen the bleeder screw from the bleeder screw base before starting the next steps.

Steer front end of forklift completely to left.

Steer front end of forklift completely to right until rotation stop is contacted.

Release steering wheel so there is no hydraulic input.

Bleed top bleeder in actuator.

Repeat steps a-d until all air is removed from top bleed port.

Steer front end of forklift completely to right.

Steer front end of forklift completely to the left until rotation stop is contacted.

Release steering wheel so there is no hydraulic input.

Raise mast until inner mast channels are clear of the front plate. NOTE: For safety brace mast channel as shown below on next page.

Bleed middle bleeder in actuator body through cut-out in front plate.

Repeat steps f-j until all air is removed from middle bleed port.

Check unit for leaks and return to service

For units under warranty, there will be 1 hour of labor to install 195929.There will be no travel, or diagnostic time allowed.
