Cause

Turbocharger speed sensor, high speed. Possible causes are a blockage in the engine air filter, a leak in the boost air piping, a defective wiring of the turbocharger speed sensor, a defective turbocharger speed sensor, a defective VGT control shaft, a defective VGT mechanism, or a defective VGT actuator.

Consequences and remedy

Save the engine all log file.

Examine the air filter and change it if needed.

Examine if there is an air leak in the boost air piping or the intercooler.

Examine the wiring and the connectors for the following components:

Turbocharger speed sensor

Examine the VGT control shaft for mechanical failures.

Examine the VGT for mechanical failures.

Examine if there is a blockage in the VGT.

Test if the fault code is active with another turbocharger speed sensor.

Test if the fault code is active with another VGT actuator.
