How to Change Oil for Liebherr R9600 Hydraulic Excavator

This instruction show you guide on how to change oil for Liebherr R9600 hydraulic excavator.

Procedures:

Diesel engine: drain the oil

WARNING

Hot oil!

Risk of burns.

Use the applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Check that the Diesel engine is stopped for a minimum of 10 minutes.

Do not touch hot oil or hot surfaces.

 

Make sure that the following preconditions are met:

The machine is safely parked on firm and level ground.

The Diesel engine oil is at operating temperature.

The Diesel engine is stopped.

 

Make sure that the following tools are available:

Drain hose

Used oil container

 

Drain the oil through the service trap

Use the coupling 1 or the coupling 2 on the service trap.

 

Drain the oil through the drain plug

Put the used oil container below the drain plug.

Remove the cap from the filler neck

Attach the drain hose to the drain plug.

Drain the used oil into the used oil container.

When all the used oil is drained, remove the drain hose.

Examine and clean the drain plug.

Examine and clean the sealing surface of the drain plug.

Install the drain plug again.

Install the cap on the filler neck again.

 

Subsequent procedure

After you drain the oil, you must replace the oil filter.

 

Diesel engine: fill with oil

Make sure that the following preconditions are met:

The machine is safely parked on firm and level ground.

The Diesel engine is stopped.

The new oil is approved.

 

Fill with oil through the service trap

Use the coupling 1 or the coupling 2 on the service trap.

When you get the correct oil level, start the Diesel engine.

Operate the Diesel engine for some minutes.

Stop the Diesel engine.

Make sure that there are no leaks.

Wait for a minimum of 10 minutes after Diesel engine stop.

The oil collects in the oil pan.

Check the oil level again.

 

 

Fill with oil through the filler neck

Remove the cap 1 from the filler neck 2.

Fill with oil through the filler neck 2.

When you get the correct oil level, install the cap 1 on the filler neck 2 again.

Start the Diesel engine.

Operate the Diesel engine for some minutes.

Stop the Diesel engine.

Make sure that there are no leaks.

Wait for a minimum of 10 minutes after Diesel engine stop.

The oil collects in the oil pan.

Check the oil level again.
