Procedures:

Adjusting the clearance between the teeth on the high pressure pump

This adjustment is performed when the high-pressure pump and the camshaft have been removed.

► Undo the mounting bolts (1).

► Remove the adjusting flange (2).

 

Respect the technical specifications from the overview.

► Lubricate the two bearing faces on the special tool.

► Fit the adjusting flange on the tool.

► To make the tool easier to remove, ensure that the adjusting flange slides over the special tool.

► Fit the special tool.

► Bring the flange towards it and gradually tighten the bolt so that the flange is completely straight on the special tool.

► Remove the special tool using a plastic hammer, ensuring that the two centring devices on the special tool disengage at the same time.

Adjusting the clearance between the teeth on the intermediate pinion

To adjust the clearance between the teeth on the single intermediate pinion:

► The camshaft (1) must be refitted.

► The plate (2) must be fitted.

► The single intermediate pinion (3) must be removed.

Undo the bolt (1).

Respect the technical specifications from the overview.

► Fit the special tool between the camshaft and the shaft corresponding to the centre of the connecting rod intermediate pinion shaft.

► Tighten the bolt (1).
